President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, during their meeting in Abu Dhabi on February 4, welcomed the progress achieved in implementing the outcomes of the Washington Peace Summit held with the mediation and participation of U.S. President Donald Trump. They emphasized the importance of maintaining positive momentum in advancing the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan on a bilateral basis.
The sides noted that both societies are already seeing the practical benefits of peace. They expressed satisfaction with the launch of bilateral trade, the continuation of exports of petroleum products from Azerbaijan to Armenia, as well as the transit of grain and other goods to Armenia from third countries through Azerbaijani territory. The parties agreed to continue exploring opportunities to expand bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
In addition, they welcomed mutual visits by representatives of civil society and agreed on the need to expand confidence-building measures.
President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also discussed the implementation of the TRIPP project and other projects in the field of communications and connectivity.
The President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia reaffirmed their readiness to continue efforts to further strengthen peace and stability between the two countries and agreed to maintain contacts in order to facilitate the bilateral normalization process.
