Aliyev stated that issues of regional security are consistently on the agenda in his meetings with Putin. He noted that both presidents are pleased with how these issues are being resolved. “Russia is a foundational country in terms of regional security in the Caucasus and in a broader geographical context,” said the Azerbaijani leader.
The head of state added that much depends on the interaction between the countries.
On April 22, Aliyev arrived in Moscow on a working visit at the invitation of the Russian leader. Later, Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov announced that the presidents would hold talks and meet with veterans who built the Baikal-Amur Mainline.
