In the RIA article, Beglaryan is referred to as the “state minister of the NKR”, the illegal structure in the territory of Azerbaijan.
The spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry said, “The fact that the Russian state news agency disseminates information aimed against the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, promoting defamation and separatist trends, is against the spirit of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Russia and is therefore deeply regrettable.
“This action of the state agency runs counter to the provisions of the 1997 Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Security between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation and the 2022 Declaration on Allied Interaction ‘to refrain from any action against the principles of the UN Charter and the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the parties’ and ‘to counter threats of separatism’.
“The dissemination of these provocative statements by RIA Novosti also casts a shadow on the Russian Federation’s efforts to establish peace in the region in the post-conflict period.”
