“The great potential of renewable energy production in Azerbaijan is also appreciated by European Union. We have already started projects of investments in wind and solar energy. We have already made the first assessment about our potential,” Aliyev said at an expanded meeting with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan on July 18, according to Caliber.Az.
“In the liberated areas of Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur, the potential of solar and wind power plants is 9,200 megawatts and the potential of wind in the Caspian Sea 157 gigawatts. So we have really enormous resource base,” the president added.
