“It is a well-known fact that many of them are in close contact with Armenian lobbying groups in the U.S.,” Hajiyev stated in a comment to E&E News, a project by Politico focused on environmental and energy issues. “It seems likely that some members of Congress, in preparation for elections, are seeking financial support and votes from the Armenian lobby.”
“Turning COP into a political tool and conducting campaigns against countries is wrong. It is an attempt to divert attention from the main goals of climate action,” he said.
“Climate action is a global issue that concerns the entire world. Azerbaijan is doing everything it can to make the upcoming COP29 a success, with the involvement of all partners focused on benefiting our planet and advancing the global climate action agenda,” Hajiyev added.
