This was stated by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during the international forum “Yerevan Dialogue” in Yerevan.
“Russia has already played a very constructive role. Russia is the country that managed to establish peace and later sign the ceasefire agreement after the 2020 war. Russia also succeeded in bringing Armenia and Azerbaijan to the negotiating table. This role was then continued by the U.S., the EU, and other partners and countries. We are grateful to all the countries that are working to bring Armenia’s and Azerbaijan’s positions closer. However, we also understand that every country has its own interests, and those interests do not always align with the interests of the Republic of Armenia,” he said, adding that he would have liked to see his Russian counterpart at the forum.
