During the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the recent meeting of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Israel held in Davos, where key issues on the bilateral agenda were discussed. They emphasized the steady development of Azerbaijan–Israel relations across a wide range of areas, including trade and economic cooperation, energy, tourism, and other sectors.
The sides noted strong prospects for expanding cooperation in agriculture, water resource management, high technologies, and artificial intelligence. Special attention was paid to the importance of mutual visits and contacts at various levels, as well as to the role of the intergovernmental commission, whose latest session was held recently.
Gideon Sa’ar stated that his visit to Baku is accompanied by representatives of major businesses and business circles. He expressed confidence that the Azerbaijan–Israel Business Forum planned as part of the visit would contribute to further strengthening trade and economic ties between the two countries. The minister also thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the state-level attention and care shown to the Jewish community in Azerbaijan.
In a post on social network X, the Israeli foreign minister described Ilham Aliyev as a visionary leader under whose leadership Azerbaijan has achieved impressive results. He also expressed gratitude for the friendship and support for Jewish life in the country.
According to Sa’ar, he arrived in Azerbaijan as part of a high-level business and economic delegation that includes Israeli companies and economic organizations representing various sectors. He emphasized that the shared objective of both sides is to deepen the strategic partnership in energy, defense, water resources, agriculture, tourism, and other areas. The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
