The officials noted that the bilateral dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Azerbaijan experienced a positive dynamic during the current year, based on mutual support and respect. Also, the parties emphasized the importance of boosting economic collaboration, welcoming, in this sense, the holding of the fourth meeting of the Moldovan-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission for commercial-economic cooperation, after a ten-year break.
Prime Minister Gavriliţa expressed the Republic of Moldova’s interest in exploring the Azeri market for natural gas, oil products, electricity and fertilizer production, with a view to establishing purchase contracts and developing joint projects in the energy and agricultural sectors. Also, the Head of the Executive issued an invitation to Azeri businessmen to invest in electricity production capacities, processing of agricultural products and in other fields of perspective.
“Our priority concern is the consolidation of the energy sector and ensuring the food security of the Republic of Moldova. We count on the opening of Azerbaijan in order to boost our commercial relations and negotiate contracts under advantageous conditions”, said the prime minister.
At the end, Natalia Gavriliţa thanked the Azerbaijani side for the constant support offered to the Republic of Moldova in the fight against the pandemic and the humanitarian assistance delivered in the context of managing the Ukrainian refugee crisis.
