Mustafayev pointed out that Baku had repeatedly stated its readiness to begin negotiations on a peace treaty.
“There is no alternative to peace in the normalization of the situation in the region, and it can be achieved first and foremost through establishing interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the basis of mutual recognition and respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of international borders,” he noted.
The deputy prime minister also stressed that Paragraph 9 of the statement of November 9-10, 2020 stipulates the restoration of economic and transport ties in the region, the opening of communications in order to create a transport connection between the western regions of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
“A working group chaired by the vice prime ministers of the three countries is in place to implement these activities,” Shahin Mustafayev added.
