Referring to the upcoming presidential elections in Iran, he expressed hope that the promotion of relations will continue during the tenure of the next Iranian president.
Ever since President Rouhani took power in Iran, the leaders of both countries have paid mutual visits to Tehran and Baku so that the two countries have witnessed significant growth in bilateral relations, Doostaliyev said.
He hailed the tripartite cooperation of Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia, as well as the expansion of bilateral relations which, he said, have grown into trilateral relations to include Turkey.
The analyst said that the former Iranian presidents have also attached special significance to relations with Azerbaijan same as the late Azeri President Heydar Aliyev who put relations with Iran high on the agenda of his government
He said that the same policy is pursued during President Ilham Aliyev’s tenure.
